Hey look it's a GT3RS. Gotta love car week in Monterey.

and it's even got the right color combo!

Best 911 ever made? If not it is in the top 3

I'll take an RS in any combo if the price is right :)

It probably is if you put aside nostalgia and value. The old 2.7 RS is worth more and is air cooled. But this is probably the best RS to own. You could DD the hell out of it and track it every weekend.

Just enough horsepower, not too much and not too little it is perfect

very true.
and it's the last GT3 with hydraulic steering and a stick.
I remember seeing one in this exact color combination for sale when I got my 997. It was nearly 3 times the price of my car. It would've been worth it

Completely worth it

I'm a moron.
I should have at least got a GT3. It would have held its value. And been awesome. Instead I spent more by getting 2 more cars and all 3 have been depreciating hard.
Let this be a lesson folks - drive a beater until you can afford one awesome and rare car. Don't buy multiple common cars

You could have gotten a 996 GT3 too right?

Damn that was an option too. Ugh

I agree...but after seeing one at the auto show I'm a sucker for the Gray Black/Guards Red combo.
The rarest combo is the Sharkwerks shop car. Mexico Blue and Orange...almost Gulf themed!

Honestly though at the end of the day yours is the most livable and still a load of fun. I mean it is still a 911

Yeah I still love it :) It's great around town for sure.
One funny thing though is that the 997.2 GT3 might actually be more livable because it has PASM and my base car doesn't. I haven't driven a GT3 but I've driven a C2S with PASM and it makes a huge difference over bumpy roads.
The 997's short wheelbase makes the fixed dampers pretty rough when driving on hellish roads. Everyone says the Gallardo is stiff but the one that I test drove seemed like it had a better ride than my Carrera.

Yikes that is bad. I am surprised the GT3 has PASM considering the car was supposed to be all about lightness

At least I think it has it. I google'd it once and think I saw that.
I think maybe Porsche decided the extra weight was worth it because the settings are helpful. The roll bar settings might tie in to PASM, but I could be remembering wrong

Might I ask what you do in Monterey/Carmel? I love the area, not sure I could find a suitable engineering/tech gig.
